What our past Board & Train clients say:

I just wanted to take this opportunity to tell you how happy and thankful I am for the training April has done with Benny while he was at Board & Train.

The set-up for boarding was ideal for Benny, being in April’s home, on her beautiful acreage with the company of other dogs. April was great at providing me with updates, photos and videos of Benny’s progress and it showed me how well he was being cared for and nurtured.

Jodie and Benny, 6 month old Standard Poodle

After a little over two weeks, Benny’s separation anxiety is remarkably improved, he is crate trained, he walks loose-leash wonderfully and his over-all behaviour has improved.

I see a new confidence in Benny and he is thriving. It has been a great experience for both of us! Thanks from Benny and Jodie

My husband and I are beyond happy with the progress our pup, Dakota, has had! We can’t thank April enough for her hard work and transforming our pup into a way more behaved little guy!

Would recommend the Board and Train to anyone! Words can’t even describe how happy we are! Thank you so much.

Alanna, Brandyn and Dakota, 7 month old German Shepherd

Great communication from April during our dog’s board and train. Appreciated receiving regular updates with photos and videos. She worked hard to build our dog’s confidence and address his key issues.

April took Scooby with her everywhere – stores, parks, hikes, etc and the socialization he received along the way and also with other dogs in her care and the staff was greatly beneficial.

We recently booked our two year old English Cocker Spaniel “Calli” in the “Board and Train Program” CommuniCanine offers. April provides a Safe and Ideal setting amidst a Peaceful acreage where clients pet’s are homed in her private home during their stay, not in a separate kennel.

This atmosphere left me confident and worry free that our beloved pet was being nurtured and mindfully cared for while on vacation. As well as the boarding, I took advantage of the Board & Train Program. I thought Calli needed a refresher on Manners and Leash walking. I’m amazed after two weeks the remarkable results. We enjoy walks, beginning to end, Calli walking Perfectly at my side no more tugging!

Calli also learned “Go to Your Place,” a place she must remain calm and quiet during dinner preparation, dining and as well the Entrance of Guests to our home.

I would like to give a Heartfelt Thank-you to April for giving me the Tools and Knowledge to assist me in training our dog in being a Well Mannered Enjoyable Fur Baby as well as her loyalty to her clients being only a call or email away.

I wanted you to know that Arche-EE did very well working with April for his board and train. I know you already know how good she is but testimonials are a good thing to have. Being just 1 year old, Arch-EE has some energy to manage and contain around good manners.

The best feedback came yesterday and today from some friends who are all dog savvy. All of us have had reactive dogs, and most of the group today have been level II dog walkers with the SPCA and have all worked with a previous volunteer trainer at the SPCA so when they give feedback I give it merit. Yesterday my friend commented on the difference in how calmly Arch-EE greeted her when he got out of the car. He usually would be leaping and jumping all over her and he stayed all four feet on the ground and waited to be loved.

How does the Board & Train Program work
and what makes ours different?

Residence

Location: In-home boarding

Your dog will live full time in the home of our staff trainer, Sarah, where they will be treated as one of her own dogs.

Customized Training

Your dog is unique and so should the training be.

Our programs are completely customizable based on your needs. Whether you want to teach your dog foundation obedience commands like sit, down or come, improve their leash or house manners, run to their bed and stay when the doorbell rings, learn how to be calm around other dogs and people or anything else, we’ve got you covered!

Intimate Learning

We only take a maximum of one dog at a time into our program.

This allows us to provide your dog with the maximum amount of training time and attention throughout their stay.

Consistent & Regulated Training

Maximizing their time and making sure that habits become engrained.

Your dog will receive multiple training lessons plus socialization throughout each day to ensure they get the most out of their stay with us.

Work hard,
Play hard

Dogs will not spend hours at a time in a kennel or crate. We stand by a balanced schedule of work, rest, and play.

When your dog isn’t working with the trainer or having a much needed rest from all the days activities, they will be running and playing with other dogs, cats, and children at Sarah’s family home.

Keeping You Connected

You will receive regular correspondence via text message to update you on your dogs progress.

We know how hard it is to be separated from your pooch, that’s why we make sure to keep lines of communication open.

Continuing Education

At the end of the program, we will give you the tools to be able to reinforce their new behaviors at home.

You will receive a take-home lesson with the trainer to go over everything that your dog learned with us throughout their stay.
